Our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly in the actions of our initiatives. From the moment we started our work in 2020 we understood that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch Save the Grandstand Inc. We strive to make a positive change in all of our pursuits.

What we have done so far
2024 has Made a Difference on how we are doing business. We went in front of the city board asking to rent the grandstand and the track area from them because the city has said they have no money to invest in the fairgrounds and will not do so. Meanwhile our board of director has signed a rental agreement that we will keep the grandstands as long as we keep up our agreement of the upkeep and restoration.
First, we started by having General Engineering Company come in and make sure the structure of the grandstand is still stable to invest in the project.
GEC has given us a go ahead that it is totally stable.
Then, we had to have a company come in and do a lead and asbestos test on the building
The building is asbestos free, but there is lead paint in one area that needs to be sealed
We Also have received a bid from Findorff. They will come in and fix the concrete inside and out for the cost of materials so we are in the process of raising that sum of money, through donations, grants and fundraisers.
After that we have a excepted bid for the painting and sealing of the concrete
WE are happy to announce that on Aug 1,2025 the pressure washing will start on the grandstand so that on Aug. 2, 2025 Findorff will start on the restoration of the concrete. Watch for update pictures.
other bids we had done are the electrical upgrade in the grandstand to put concessions back in the under side of the grandstand. And to have the electrical done in the track area for the lights and sound for concerts and all sorts of activities we are working on booking
we are working on the the dramatic aspects of getting the bathrooms back up and running
which is a huge undertaking but we are determined to get it done. As you all know nothing gets done fast so be patient it will be years

And at the same time Raise the standards of our lives these days. Giving people in our community prupous weather its volenteering or entertaining or outreach.

August 1, 2025 CertaPro Painters started pressure washing grandstand today
August 2, 2025 pressure washing of grandstand wash finished. we also tore down the ceiling in the arch area to be replaced and removed everything on the building for Findorff to start concrete.
August 4, Findorff started the concrete we will be posting pictures on face book and hear as time allows.

already just one week in a few surprises as to be expected but nothing they cant handle.
